Pellet mill is now quite popular that many people are interested to build their own pellet mills to make full use of their biomass waste and at the same time save fuel cost or make profit.
However, if you want to build your own pellet mill, you must meet some requirements. They are as follows:
1. You have sufficient supply and easy access to raw material. The raw material for your pellet mill can vary from wood sawdust to bamboo powder, peanut shell, straw, stalk, EFB, bagasse, etc. Your biomass raw material must be sufficient, so that it won’t delay your pellet production. Also, your raw material should be easy to access, so that the transportation of raw material won’t cost too much. The best way of cause is to build the pellet mill plant near your raw material.
2. You have enough space to install the pellet mill line. A complete pellet mill line usually includes crusher, conveyor, pellet mill, cyclone, pellet cooler, etc. Therefore, for settling a small pellet line, at least tens of square meters room is required; while for larger pellet plant, hundreds of square meters place is a must.

3. There is local market demand. You must be clear with your local market demand, such as the required capacity and quality requirement. If you produce several tons of biomass pellets every day, but only less than a half can be consumed daily, then the production excesses the market demand too much. Besides, if your local market only requires high quality pellets, the common pellets might not be welcomed.
4. Also fund is a necessity. Only with enough funds can you buy good quality equipments and make good pellets.
